Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #35

*NOTE* I am so sorry I totally spaced on the color part of this challenge.  So much going on getting ready for school that I think I just have a super short term memory...I hope for better on the next challenge.*

Whew!  I am trying to stay busy with challenges today to get my creative mind thinking :)  This afternoon I attempted the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge.  I looked at it earlier in the week and passed on it because I just couldn't get my mind going, but today I decided it was calling my name!  I just got my new set of Critter Faces last week and really wanted to try them out.  I made this card for a little girl in my class who brought me a very sweet and thoughtful gift at open house last night.   Enjoy :)

A Throwback Thursday Fit for a Princess

Hello Everyone!  The Throwback Thursday theme at My Creative Time was to make a princess theme card.  I choose to make Belle with the Dreams Come True cartridge because she is one of my favorite Disney characters.  The images on this cart have sooooo many layers so I choose to just make an image of her head.  Hope you enjoy :)  There are so many other great cards that were submitted this week as well so be sure to check them out here.

Rock Princess

This weekend I got the Rock Princess cart and decided to test it out today!  Here are two cards that I made using it!  The first one turned out the way I wanted it, but the second one I actually messed up on.  I didn't realize that I should have cut the base in a red and the leaves as a layer.  Instead I cut the base in green so I tried to cover my mistake by adding glitter glue to the missing flower parts.  Hope it is passable!?!

Enjoy!

Have you seen the Workbox?

I am a huge fan of Emma over at My Creative Time and if you have never check out her website she has great videos and ideas to share for inspiration.  This week she shared a product called the workbox or the original scrapbox, which is like a compact scrapbook storage and work unit in one.  I have never seen it before, but I am absolutely amazed at how much space it would save and how nice it looks when it is closed up.  It comes in several different colors and a picture of one can be found below. You can enter to win a limited edition workbox at Emma's website and she also gives a list of other places you can enter so be sure to check it out!  Do any of you have one of these?  If you do, I would love to know how you like it!!!  Enjoy!

You "Quack" Me Up

I hope you all had a great weekend!  I had a very detrimental trip for my credit card to JoAnns this weekend.  I bought several new cartridges and can't wait to use them this week and share what I come up with so stay tuned...

In the mean time, here is a card I made with the "Just Because" cards cartridge!  I did not cut the actual card from the cart, just the images.  Hope you enjoy!

Story Bags

Here is an idea that I use in my classroom for those of you who are teachers or have little kids in your life.  All of the cuts are from the My Community Cartridge.  I put the different story characters in Ziploc bags along with the story book.  The kids love to tell the story themselves using the characters.  I laminate all of the pieces to make them more durable to the wear that kids place on them.  Below I show the pieces of Goldilocks and the three Bears and The Three Little Pigs (My books are still at school).  You can also make many other stories like The Gingerbread Man, Jack in the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood.  Enjoy!

School Days!

Some have started back to school, and some will be starting back to school shortly.  I have several projects that I would like to share this week that I have made for my classroom.  The first project to share is a poster that I made for the reading corner in my room.  I teach very young children so a familiar face reading is always fun and motivational :)  If you are a teacher or a parent looking for ideas, I know there are many other school related blog posts for crafters right now that are great for inspiration!!  Enjoy!

Welcome to School :)

Ahhhh...so it is so hard to believe that it is August and school is right around the corner!!!  Where has my summer gone?  This month is back to reality filled with meetings, classroom set up, and meet the teacher night.  I can't wait to meet all of my new little ones :)  Here is a poster that I made yesterday to hang in the hallway at school.  I LOVE the way it turned out!  I hope to get another section going on the blog this week to show other projects that I have created for school in the past few weeks.  There is an endless possibility of ways your cricut can become your #1 aid in your classroom!

Summer Fun!

Whoooohoooo!  I am so excited today because I went shopping and bought way too many cartridges!!  I got H2O, Preserves, and Just Because Cards.  My mom was also shopping with me and bought me some cartridges, but they are being held captive until my birthday at the end of the month :(  Guess the excitement will be spread out!  Here is a card that I made with the H2O cart!  This has some very cute images on it.  The "summer" ribbon was from Hobby Lobby.  I found it a few weeks ago on clearance and thought it went perfect with this card!  Enjoy :)
